Before each surgical operation, I project the photos that we used during planning to the monitors in the operation room. These photos will be our map for the operation and will guide us during every stage.
One of the main concerns of the patients and their relatives is how long the operation will take, although we do not want to take a guess at this. This is because the operations may unexpectedly take longer, and this makes people feel uneasy. The goal in nose aesthetics surgery/rhinoplasty is to achieve a “breathing beauty”. The time taken to achieve this does not really matter.

While the steps shown in the video are almost always implemented in surgery, we often need to go beyond these steps and do more complex applications.
If you have an arched nose, removing the arch will result in an abnormally flat nose back. The nasal bones are fractured on purpose to correct this flat image.
I use various tools during the operation for fracturing, cutting and reshaping of the bones. One of these tools is the so-called ultrasonic/piezo system. In this system, fast vibrations are used to cut through the bones. I also use sharp-edged tools and micro-saws during operations.
I choose between different tools according to the requirements at the moment of surgery and I believe this is the right thing to do instead of being dependent on a single instrument.
Another technique used for correcting the nasal arch involves shortening the bones from the bottom instead of top where the nose structure is preserved as a whole but pressed deeper in its position. I sometimes make use of these techniques that are called “push down/let down” and share the results we achieve. As I repeatedly emphasize to those who demand certain techniques: every technique has its advantages and disadvantages.
Even though the methods to be used are largely decided during the pre-operative evaluation, I may make some changes at the time of the operation depending on the needs of the patient and try to proceed in the safest way possible.
Like all physicians and surgeons, my greatest goal is to make my patient happy, as well as to achieve a result that I think is optimal. It should be noted that nose aesthetics surgery/rhinoplasty is a surgical operation and no surgical operation is simple.
