In the early period, when the swelling is intense, the appearance of the nose and the photographs taken can be misleading in many respects. Swellings are almost always asymmetrical and can make non-existent problems appear as if they exist, as well as prevent existing problems from being seen.
The reason why we repeatedly take photographs during the postoperative follow-up process is to be able to recognise these changes. I find it convenient to take your first photograph or video recording immediately after the bandages have been removed. Depending on the speed of change, we usually take your subsequent photographs at the 1st month, 6th month and 1st year.
Early congestion, threads that you can feel with your hand in the nasal entrance and minor bleeding are common, often insignificant problems that you may encounter. Depending on the methods we use while reducing the nasal flesh, crusts in the nose and related congestion problems may occur from time to time. I recommend using ocean water solutions and moisturising drops for cleaning to soften and remove these crusts. However, sometimes it may be necessary to remove healing tissues and scabs during the examination.
You should accept rhinoplasty surgery as a process including control visits. I have tried to share the difficulties we may encounter in the process and that there is always a solution as much as I can in my informative articles. At this point, regardless of the stage, the duty of every patient who is considering surgery, who has decided and is waiting for the day, or who has undergone surgery and is in the follow-up process is to follow the path shown by the physician and to be calmness.
